2010: This crystal clear underwater photo shows the different flood and sediment layers found in a typical stream or creek.

2010: We received over 4 feet of snow in December 2009 and January 2010. These downed trees show that the extreme weight of heavy snow is sometimes too much for these old pines to handle.

2010: One of my winter projects was to build a stand that could hold a couple dredges. This is a picture of "Condo I" with two Keene 4" sluices operating simultaneously.

2010: I used "Condo I" for a few months and then set out to create the next model. Pictured here is "Condo II", a stronger design capable of holding two sluices from 5" or 6" dredges.

2010: This is the "Ugly Nugget" found early this year. Is there such a thing?

2010: My son Chris and I discovered this large quartz vein ripping through the bedrock under fairly shallow overburden and in a low pressure area. We had our best day of the year, plucking the gold by hand right out of the decaying vein.

2009: Gold dredges lined up and ready for work.

2009: Team work in a dredge hole. Does the water look 11 feet deep?

2009: Using the high pressure hoses from the dredges to help move tailing piles and fill in the old dredge holes.

2009: Rich Anderson inspecting the dredges befire firing them up for a day of work on the river.

2009: Jack Wyatt on the nozzle of a 5" dredge.

2009: Kevin Owen and Chuck Snyder prepare to move a boulder.

2009: Five dredges humming along in unison. What a sweet sound!

2009: Jason Thayer removing materials wedged between massive boulders.

2009: Spotters keep a close eye on the dredgers and all surrounding activity within the dredge hole.

2008: Rich Anderson, John Hoffman, David Shackleton, and Mike Anderson (left to right).

2008: After three busted straps and a tired winch, we refused to quit moving boulders.

2008: Sunrise on Etna Summit.

2008: Mike Anderson proudly displays his boulder movers.

2008: 6" Proline dredge. Notice the smoke in the background. The massive wildfires got within a mile of our camp before we pulled out.

2007: 5" Dredge nozzle on bedrock.

2007: Nice shot of bedrock, hardpacked material, and overburden layers.

2007: I found this critter skull in the woods. Looks great holding some gold!

2007: My first day dredging on the North Fork Salmon River. A day I will never forget.
